rockyhou Posted April 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2004 Once on a Carnival Ship Richard Simmons was on board with his group 'Cruise to Lose'. I never really thought much of him before..but by the end of the week I was a fan. He was extremely nice, funny and freindly to even people not in his group. For example he played Blackjack everynight and was handing out chips to people who just happened to pass by to play a hand or two with him. Maybe a bit flamboyant...but what a fun guy. Sophie Posted April 15, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2004 Johnny Thunder from the original "Drifters" did a show on our cruise on the Norwegian Sea four years ago. We ran into him out on deck one sea day and he sat and had a beer with us. Very nice man and he had a great show! Sophie

Johanna7 Posted April 15, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 15, 2004 Ruby Keeler was the guest celebrity on the Crown Odyssey, then owned by Royal Cruise Lines in December 1991 on a Mexican Riviera cruise, 9 days, LA to LA. Her movie, 42nd street, was also shown. Michelle Wright was the celebrity on the Pegasus. It was 1991 and the ship sank when a welders torch set it on fire in Venice a year later. lschrage Posted April 15, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 15, 2004 a few years ago we sailed on the Voyager and ended up having Jorge Posada (catcher for the NY Yankees) and his wife Laura be our dinner tablemates. Since we only had a table for 6, we got to know them pretty well. It was wonderful to spend the week with them. They really were a delightful couple. richterscale Posted April 15, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 15, 2004 When my family and I sailed on Disney Magic, we had the company of "NASH" a WWF wrestler I think. As my dd said, "he's the biggest guy I've ever seen!!" He had a great time as the ship left Cozumel. He was somewhat personable. His wife was beautiful. Kid was ok too. He had his own beer on the ship I think, as we never saw miller genuine draft in the bars. Family of 14 Posted April 15, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 15, 2004 COLIN FARRELL was on our AOS cruise last September according to my friend. I had no idea who he was (and still don't know), but she kept insisting it was him. ccletzgo - How do you know that Regis is on a cruise. My brother just saw him on his "live" show last Wednesday. David Schwimmer - Now that is one person I would like to see. If he was on the cruise, he proubably had no idea that the ship would be run over with teens. He was just taking advantage of having a break and probably thought a cruise would be safe. Are you sailing on the Mariner 7/18/04?...Click here! or HERE! squarepants Posted April 16, 2004 #16 Share Posted April 16, 2004 This goes way back to the week of June 15th, 1986 and our first cruise ever and we took it on the Song of America. I held the door open for Opah Winfrey and gave her a quick smile and hello. She was with her girlfriend and they were headed out to the pool deck. I'm from Milwaukee and recognized her from her talk show to the city to our south, Chicago. She had just started her climb. My wife had no idea what she looked like. She only knew her name. My wife still didn't believe me until I showed her the list of names RCCL used to hand out at the end of the cruise. Remember these hand outs??? They came in the form of a special certificate commemorating at the end of the cruise and the friends you traveled with during the week. Great souvenir to have. Now you know why I remember the date so well. Square

RonnieS Posted April 16, 2004 #18 Share Posted April 16, 2004 George Takei, Mr. Sulu of Star Trek fame was on Adventure of the Seas, December, 2003. He was just a few cabins down the hall from us. We had a close encounter with him a couple of times and had some small chit-chat. Seemed like a very nice guy. It was not only George Takei, but also Eugene Roddenberry (son of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry), Garrett Wang (Ensign Kim, Star Trek - Voyager), Tim Russ (Lt. Tuvok, Star Trek - Voyager) and Casey Biggs (Damar, Star Trek - Deep Space Nine). We shared the table with Tim Russ and his family in the dining room. TheWog Posted April 16, 2004 #22 Share Posted April 16, 2004 We were on the Disney Magic January 10-17 this year. Arriving the day we were leaving was Jim Belushi and the cast of According to Jim to film for the two part show about them on the Disney Cruise making a television commercial. It aired last week of Feb and first week of March. The crew was very excited and all passengers on that cruise received a letter informing them of the filming and the possibility they would be on the show. pattiemax Posted April 16, 2004 #23 Share Posted April 16, 2004 Enchantment of the Sea last June, The Landers (sp??) sisters were there with their mom and a bunch of kids. The sisters are both very "glamourous" and big blonde hair, tight capri's , high heels, tons of make-up and mom looked the same way only a bit older. It was fun to watch them tottering around the ship on platform heels, chasing kids! Enchantment of the Sea May1,2004

Family of 14 Posted April 16, 2004 #25 Share Posted April 16, 2004 ccletzgo - When I said my brother saw him last Wednesday, I didn't mean of this week...but of last week. Brother was disappointed that the Bruce Willis segment was not live, but taped the previous day. The show was not very great, but Regis and Kelly were really nice. I haven't watched the show this week, so I didn't know he was gone. I will watch next week to hear about his trip. TheWog - I saw the first show of that series, but forgot to watch the second one.
