Kreeb Posted October 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2008 Take her to afternoon tea. It is offered only on sea days.
yearnin4cruisin Posted October 4, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 4, 2008 I've always liked the simple things. One of the things that mean the most to me is cards with handwritten notes. As hokey as it sounds, if you left a special card on her pillow or slipped one into her suitcase I think she would love it! If you're daring, go to Karaoke and sing her a love song. Have fun! What else?? you can order flowers while on board or from bon voyage department. same thing with stuff like chocolate covered strawberries and other good foods, delivered right to your cabin. and they can even decorate your room if you're celebrating something special... and definitely pony up for a spa / massage session. hint: they're often 50% on the last day at sea before arrival back at port. would also be a great treat before your supper club dinner the last night. you can also approach the piano player at the piano bar, and ask him to sing a special song to her... make it a surprise. you could even get up with him and sing it to her (they will get the lyrics for whatever song you want - i would recommend a tip)... honestokiechic Posted October 4, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2008 You could always do a couple's massage if she likes that type of stuff; order the High Seas gift set.

Yep.... nothing quite as romantic as the sound of waves, and a sky full of stars!!! Just make sure your balcony isn't overlooked from above.... you might be giving some kids an education!!!:D
izzyvet Posted October 4, 2008 #12 Share Posted October 4, 2008 Oh, this is making me think back to our honeymoon cruise some 16 years ago!!! Anything my DH did back then was romantic!!! One of the most romantic things we did was have a cab take us to a very secluded beach (I think it was on Tortola, maybe Virgin Gorda) where we spent a few blissful hours all by ourselves! Not expensive at all. Something romantic we like to do now is go to the Casino on formal night, order a couple of Martinis and do the "James Bond" thing. DH does look absolutely sexy in his tux, and gives me a chance to wear some nice "unmentionables" under my formal gown. Sure makes dressing up worth it. Oh and of course renewing our membership in the Balcony Club each time! (usually on formal night BTW)

Tbay-eh Posted October 4, 2008 #16 Share Posted October 4, 2008 I agree with all the posters on special things but how about just breakfast and coffee in bed. Order up room service the night before, arrange with steward to have a single rose on the tray and present that to her. Would knock my socks off then I would knock his socks off. Remember, we all love simple unexpected things. Have a great time.

Froufie Posted October 4, 2008 #18 Share Posted October 4, 2008 I have already booked the supper club the last night at sea? What else?? Just a suggestion - but I usually like to spend the last dinner night in the dining room - good opportunity to say good-bye to your tablemates and wait staff and to thank them (and tip them extra if you so desire). so you might want to book the supper club for another evening? I also agree with checking out the goodies from the bon voyage/gift dept and maybe have something nice waiting for her in your cabin? Have fun... No kids, no phones, no running here and there, Just kicking back and being together. And renewing your membership in the balcony club don't hurt either *LOL*

I too will be with my girlfriend on our cruise in the winter. We are going to celebrate our 7 years in the winter instead of our actual anniversary because of conflicting plans in the spring. What kind of room decorations do they do? what is typically the cost. Do they do rose petals and such? Also is it possible to have a bottle of wine or champagne delivered to the room? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance you can take a look through all items available from the carnival bon voyage department here: http://carnival.com/BonVoyage/Default.aspx and you sure can order wine / champagne - check it out: http://carnival.com/BonVoyage/Default.aspx?cat=Wine+Cellar wine - about 30 / bottle flowers - small arrangement 24, dozen roses 48.00 and here are some of the 'gourmet' delights http://carnival.com/BonVoyage/Default.aspx?cat=Gourmet+Delights didn't see much about rose petals. but if you can't find it at the bon voyage department - talk to your room steward - i guarantee they can help out. adorethesea Posted October 4, 2008 #24 Share Posted October 4, 2008 Yes ~ wine, roses, dinner, all that is nice but what do I think is very romantic?? Time....alone time....take a walk on the promanade deck at night, in the moonlight! Hold her hand, tell her how pretty she looks, soft touch on the cheek....enjoy the sounds and smells of the sea. Oh, and of course end the evening on the balcony! ;)
Cotton Posted October 4, 2008 #25 Share Posted October 4, 2008 My son had the cabin steward get a coupla roses and sprinkle the petals on the bed while they were at dinner on a special night. (An extra tip for him would be a nice gesture.) Even though it's romantic, please don't take any candles with you; not allowed due to potential fire hazard. ENJOY your romantic cruise!:)
