Ontario Traveller Posted October 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2008 What is the Windsurf St Lucia Pigeon Island day like? Does the ship disembark you at a beach? Is it similar to other cruise lines' "private" islands (eg, a ship's BBQ and beach lounge chairs)? We were thinking of getting a taxi for a tour of St Lucia, but maybe wouldn't if Windsurf had a nice arrangement for passengers at a beach. Also, if they do take you to a beach, can you snorkel off the beach? Thanks for any info.
nuvola9 Posted October 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2008 pigeon island, they tender you at the dock, which is right by the beaches. we actually took the full day tour that day which was worth it (catamaran coast trip + visit to volcano by bus) so am not sure how good the beach actually is, but it looked nice. In any case, the barbados southbound itenerary has lots of beach opportunities
parislady40 Posted October 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2008 When we were there, we were tendered to a dock that was a short walk to the beach. Lots of sun and shade. It is the day they have the beach bar-b-que. You must show your ship ID to enter the area. There is kayaking, swimming etc. The sand is very very hot there. Lots of chairs, great food, and there is a bar set up as well. We also had steel drum band to entertain us. Plenty of taxis if you wished to take a tour, but most chose the beach. All is all, a great day for passengers and crew!
Ontario Traveller Posted October 20, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted October 20, 2008 Thanks, Ruth! That's exactly what I was hoping to find out. (I was beginning to wonder if anyone on this board had been on that itinerary!) I am really looking forward to going.
