celticduchess Posted October 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2008 We are traveling with a student group of about 20. We were looking at doing a cruise to Hawaii instead of flying in and island hopping that way. We are looking into NCL POA in May and was wondering what the parking was like in Kauai's and Maui's port? We have been to Hawaii several times before and were looking at renting cars to see the sites on our own. Has anyone done this before? Will the car rental companies come pick you up at the ports or should we get a taxi to the airport? We will be docked overnight in Kauai and Maui and that is why I am asking about parking nearby and fees.
CruisinMK Posted October 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2008 They pick you up at the port. The kauai rental shuttle driver can point out two overnight pay lots on the way out of the pier if you ask him on boarding. The rental places only 10 min away from pier. Maui port parking a little less certain, its luck how far away from ship you have to park. Ask the fellow at secured gate about where to park. Make sure you have reservations before your trip, i suggest signing up for the fast checkout. Don't rent from airport in kona, rent from king ham hotel instead.
