WIFI in Halifax and St John

Recommended Posts

Any spots for WIFI in Halifax and St John?

There are two large international carriers "default" and "linksys" you can get them anywhere

More seriously, Canada has a higher penetration of internet and internet services (per capita) than in the USA, you'll be able to find Wifi in a lot of places.

Here is a link to the "Hot Spots" located throughout Nova Scotia and NewBrunswick. You can spot the locations because they display a "Hot Spot" sign as shown on the web page.

Even though it states there is a charge I think that it is free. There are locations all around the city. In Halifax, the closest is a coffee shop directly accross from the exit of the main pier building (about a 1 minute walk). The building also has a mincro brewery.

Java Moose Cafe has WIFI and their 2 locations in Saint John by the cruise ships - Prince William Street and their location in the Old City Market.

Acey---I often see people on their laptops by the fountain in Market Square. What's the story there? Are they tapping into the library's wi-fi, the Hilton's or does Market Square provide the service?

There was talk of making the uptown area a wifi zone - but never heard anymore about it - maybe they implemented it?

I didn't think the library had wifi....

Great information for our upcoming New England / Canada cruise. Thanks for posting it. This will also serve as a bump up in the queue so others may find it easier for 2009 cruises.
