Panama Canal on Jewel of Seas

We are going on the Jewel of the Seas 03/02/09 for the Panama Canal partial transit. Does anyone have suggestions as to the best tours you may be able to take independently and/or tours that really should be booked off the ship? We are RCL diamond and familiar with doing our own things off the ship. Also anyone from the Myrtle Beach, SC area interested in discussion or meet up. Thanks, katgrl

Hi and welcome to Cruise Critic. I am only speaking in regards to the partial Canal portion of the cruise and I'm not sure if you know that you can only take ship sponsored tours on the patial transit. It is a remote area that you disembark so you must be on a ship's tour in order to leave the ship. This is not the case on your other ports of call.

You may be able to connect with some fellow cruisers at the Meet and Mingle board, here is the link..

The partial transit is a great cruise , hope you enjoy it.
