ksjserv Posted December 29, 2008 #26 Share Posted December 29, 2008 If you want to try something that is really good in addition to the Rum Cakes, try "Wild Africa" Cream Rum. It comes in a Fuzzy Leopard Fabric covered bottle. It's great served over crushed ice. At Tortuga's they'll even let you sample it. We always get a couple of bottles of it when in GC. I get mine at Tortugas. As for the rum cakes, Blackbeards is my favorite wth Tortuga coming in 2nd.
ksjserv Posted December 29, 2008 #27 Share Posted December 29, 2008 The rum cakes freeze well and will keep for a couple of months. My favorite flavors are chocolate, key lime, pina colada. Tortuga always has samples of all the flavors.
Sugaraynh Posted January 11, 2009 #28 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Does anyone know if there is an excursion in GC to the rum factory or if not, how far it is from the port? Is it walking distance or do we need to take a cab?
daryleann Posted January 11, 2009 #29 Share Posted January 11, 2009 I found this map. Has Totuga on it but not Blackbeard's http://www.eandbcaymans.com/Gerogetown%20General.jpg Try googling Backbeard Rum Factory and see if you get anything different. JXR Posted January 12, 2009 #31 Share Posted January 12, 2009 what shop do you get B'beards cake? Think we'll try those this time round. I got mine in the Downtown Area. It was right next to Margaritaville. They do have a Sample Table that you can test the different flavours. Joanne
