Passport Question

We are booked to go on our first cruise (Sensation) 11/16/08. We have been told that we do not need passports as it is a "closed-loop" cruise - we only need government issued ID's and birth certificates. Has anyone else that has not had a passport please tell me what thier experience was?

For that cruise you will be fine without a passport.:) Been on the Sensation 3X in the last 3 years.

Have your BC & your DL & you will be fine. When you sign in at the port and when you disembark will be the only two times you will need your BC. At each port you will need you DL & your S&S card. Have Fun!!!

I would only add that your Birth Certificate is issued by the city/county/state where you were born. NOT the hospital. If you only have the hospital 'certificate' with footprints, you do not have your Birth Certificate and you must apply for the real thing.
