NMCruzzin Posted October 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2008 There are some really great pictures on this forum! :) Thanks to Everyone for sharing! I also have some pictures that now I want to enlarge, mat & frame for decorating around my home. Who do you use for something that would be about 10x13 and larger? Do you upload your pics or burn a CD with your pictures on it? I'm looking for good quality pictures. And should I request matte finish? Thanks for such a great place to ask questions!:D
Rare pierces Posted October 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2008 There are some really great pictures on this forum! Thanks for such a great place to ask questions!:D For up to 8x10, I print them myself on my Epson R300 photo printer using Ilford Gallerie paper. Up to 12x18, I use Costco. Yup, Costco! They have excellent quality mini-labs and a 12x18 runs about $2.99. (They just added 12x24 and 12x36 panorama prints for $3.99 and $4.99) I then mount the prints on FoamCor board with an acid-free adhesive like 3M Photo Mount and trim to size. Larger prints are done at a graphic arts lab on FujiFlex photo paper and dry-mounted on ½" GatorBoard (runs about $8 - $9 per square ft). I have printed as large as 40x60 mounted on the ½" GatorBoard and hung them gallery-style without a frame (print already has graphic framing.) Regular travel and family photos are not usually printed, but are made into DVD slide-shows and distributed that way. When I need large numbers of 4x6 prints for relatives that are into scrap-booking, it's back to Costco at less than 20¢ per print. My 2¢...
