martyap Posted October 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2008 We're on the Carnival Splendor next week embarking from Rome to Ft. Lauderdale. We have an idea of the weather/temps in Europe (Rome, Barcelona, Funchal, Palma, Malaga). Expecting daytime temps in the mid 60's to mid 70's with cooler evenings about 50-55................What might we expect during the 5 day crossing before we hit St. Maarten? Shorts, sweatshirts, bathing suits??????? Thanks....Karen

This why I love the Southerly route.:)

Hambagahle Posted October 20, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2008 Did the Southern route in November 06. We had good weather throughout, with only one day of rain and clouds. Seas were normal. However the Navigator (we were on the RSSC Voyager) which was two or three days ahead of us reported high seas and a storm for a couple of days. This means, I suppose, there is no guarantee, even on the Southern route!! In Spain we had temperatures around 23-25C and Madeira was 25C-plus at the port, but much colder in the mountains. We arrived in Ft Lauderdale and it was 80F.
