Wine & Supper Club

So I'd still have to pay a corkage fee even though the wine was from Carnival?

For a $14 corkage fee on a free gift, I'd probably get the drink coupons instead then.

I really can't give you a definitive answer, sorry. I think the point is that you did not order the wine in the restaurant.

You should not have to pay for wine purchased through Carnival. We brought a bottle purchased through the web site with us to the DR and were not charged, but WERE charged corkaged for another bottle we brought from home. Just explain it to the waiter if they attempt to charge you.

BTW, the corkage fee is still a very good deal in the supper club, because the wine list there is different than the regular wine list in the DR. I brought an outstanding $30 bottle of wine with me, and paid the $14 corkage. The same wine would easily have been $80 or more in the supper club, if they even had it. I paid $45 the time before for a basic California Cab. For the same price, I had an outstanding wine that really complimented the food! You may want to consider doing that, and save the Carnival wine for the DR. ;)

The wine can be delivered to either your stateroom or to your table in the dining room.

Regardless of where is shows up, if you bring it to main dining there will be no corkage fee.

I got the red wine last time 'round, a pretty nice merlot, in fact...

No corkage fee in the supper club as well? We usually drink martinis, but they were $15 each in the supper club last year, so I was thinking a bottle of wine for a change that night.

We got a bottle of wine on our last cruise from a 45-day letter and they delivered it to us in the dining room on the first night. I'm not sure how you'd get it delivered to the Supper Club and if you carried it in, they wouldn't know it was courtesy of Carnival. Also, the 45-day letter wine choices aren't very high end, in my opinion, and might not go with the Supper Club dinner.

Correct. If you purchase the wine onboard, or do a pre-purchase arrangement through the Bon Voyage department (including 45 day perk), there is no corkage fee in either the main dining room or the supper club.

Enjoy your cruise!!! :)

What is a 45 day letter? Dang, I feel ignorant :) Holly

After you've been on a cruise, if you write Carnival with constructive criticism/suggestions/praise, you may get a letter offering you a choice of gifts (eg room decs/wine/bar credits/etc.) on a future cruise. You then call Carnival within 45 days of your next cruise to request your preference.

What kind of Martinis were you drinking? I had a Grey Goose Martini earlier this year in the supper club and it was only $9 plus sc. And, it was a larger glass than the rest of the ship.
