Patybear Posted October 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2008 We are trying to plana tour in Napels to include Pompeii, drive the Amalfi Coast and spend some time in Positano. We would like to include a stop at a winery along the way. Does anyone have any suggestions? Possibly using Rome in Limo and will also see if they have suggestions. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Rare RachelG Posted October 24, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2008 This is not like Tuscany where a lot of the wineries are set up for visitors. Most in Amalfi are quite small and not really oriented toward that. The best wine in the region comes from Ravello which is on further south from Positano--in fact, I don't really recall seeing many vineyards around Positano. It is VERY hilly. Another possibility might be the Lacrima de Cristo winery which is on Mt. Vesuvius and is very historic but again, I don't know if they are really set up for visitors. This area is really known for Limoncello--Sorrento and Amalfi have lots of shops and there are a few in Positano too. I would go to a couple of those. Most will let you do a nice tasting of Limoncello, Meloncello, and a couple of other kind of weird "cellos".
