POM luggage check in

When arriving at Port of Miami, is it better to bring luggage into terminal to check it in, or to allow a porter to take it? I have read on some posts about luggage being delivered to wrong stateroom because the advance luggage tags had wrong information on them or they ripped off and were lost (due to being paper now).

The past 2 times we have been at POM, we had our edoc luggage tags on and the porter put new ones on. I would never take our luggage on ourselves. I just don't want to lug it around.

Thanks! I certainly would prefer not to lug all our luggage as well! That is comforting to know that, at the very least, they are doing something to prevent the tags from coming off.
