Delay - Grandeur of the Seas sailing 10/30/08

October 29, 2008 – 1 p.m.

While sailing back to Baltimore, Grandeur of the Seas encountered strong winds and high seas, which significantly slowed its sailing speed. Because of this, Grandeur of the Seas is expected to dock in Baltimore tomorrow between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, instead of at 7:45 a.m.

 

We ask that guest who are scheduled to sail on Grandeur of the Seas tomorrow, Thursday, October 30, not arrive at the port before 2:00 p.m. Boarding will now take place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

We will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and update this information at 6:30 p.m.

I just read that on RCI site. I feel bad for the people on that ship...can you imagine how rough the seas must be.

Yes, I can imagine but there is more to it than just the sea state

....Imagine how the folks that had early flights home are going to feel. That's the price of cutting it close. One thing I have seen several times is that RCI will allow free internet and other support for making new reservations.

I was on a cruise that was delayed in getting to port because of a medical emergency. RCI was great about letting us get on the internet for free.
