RICKnVICK Posted November 7, 2008 #77 Share Posted November 7, 2008 My least favorite things about cruising are: 1) People who complain about everything! Leave me alone and let me enjoy my vacation!!! 2) People being rude to the staff!!!! 3) Packing my bags that last night! It means I am really going to have to get off!!!! Megnolia Posted November 8, 2008 #79 Share Posted November 8, 2008 1) living so far from the homeports :( 2) having only 3 weeks a year we are able to travel (Christmas, New Year's, Spring Break) but it won't stop us! 3) too many advertisements with the capers for silly spa treatments - ionthermie, zoom whitening etc.
WEELYNCRUZER Posted November 8, 2008 #80 Share Posted November 8, 2008 Cruising is great all the complaints may be legit but why let them bother you. Stay away from the smokers, don't book on a cruise line known for loud partiers and uncontolled kids. If you look for problems you can find them. If it's that bad boycott. Eeyoregon Posted November 8, 2008 #81 Share Posted November 8, 2008 1.) People who hog tables in the buffet area to play cards while I'm left standing with a heavy tray full of food and no where to sit. 2.) Folks in neighboring cabins who bang around like elephants in a glovebox! 3.) Pushy drink servers. Not everyone who cruises likes to drink. mr green Posted November 9, 2008 #82 Share Posted November 9, 2008 1.) People who hog tables in the buffet area to play cards while I'm left standing with a heavy tray full of food and no where to sit. That is something that I have never seen. I enjoy eating, and playing cards, but never at the same table, in fact I think that the staff should ask the card players to leave. 1. I have reported a person smoking, in the casino, on a 'None Smoking night'. 2. I have also complained about persons jogging, at 4.00, 5.00, and 6.00am, when rules state 'Jogging between 9.00am and 11.00pm only'. The reason. Trying to sleep below a person jogging is not possible!!! 3. Happily, I HAVE no number 3.:) john

montana200024 Posted November 9, 2008 #87 Share Posted November 9, 2008 Ok, this is a new one...hate that bingo is played just before the shows...all the good seats are taken with the bingo players.. Other than that...i am a happy cruiser..remember your vacation is as good as you make it...:d
Unicorn Lady Posted November 9, 2008 #88 Share Posted November 9, 2008 WOW...I read the '3 things you like about cruising' and was SO excited about our up coming 'first cruise'. Then I saw this thread and thought OK so maybe I need to read on. Wish I hadn't!!! Sorry for stepping on feet here, but some of you make it sound so horrible. Anywhere you go there will be lines...if not, it's NOT worth going to/seeing. I agree that the sad time will be getting off the ship. We have been to many places/stayed at all types of hotels/lived in different places and it's all what YOU make of it. We can only have a bad time IF we allow ourselves to have a bad time. :o
Prphan2 Posted November 10, 2008 #89 Share Posted November 10, 2008 1. Every morning I plan on starting my day with a healthy breakfast, until...I get to the buffet and my resolve for healthy eating goes out the window right about the same time I start filling my mouth with delicously fattening food. 2. In our desire to get the most out of every day, we rise early, and consequently fall asleep early, so we miss the dancing, chocolate buffet and adult comedian. 3. THEY MAKE ME GET OFF THE SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!
cruisinsmoothly Posted November 11, 2008 #90 Share Posted November 11, 2008 1 - No Pepsi, Coke 2 - What do you mean I have to leave?!? 3 - This bill must be wrong! How could we have spent that much on drinks?!? None of these would ever convince me to have a second thought about taking a cruise.

ubermama Posted November 12, 2008 #92 Share Posted November 12, 2008 People who think that they can take their holiday off from parenting even though their children are hanging off the table. Yes, I am a mother but I never let our daughter run around crazy. Paying for the cruise would definetly not be my favorite part. HAHA People who sit just let it all hang out and forget their manners. forensic Posted November 12, 2008 #93 Share Posted November 12, 2008 Ubermama I agree with you! One of our real dislikes are children that have parents that either have no sense or no brains. And as Ubermama, we too raised a child and she ALWAYS had good manners! We started taking her to 5 * restaurants from the age of 1. We also have 2 grandchildren, they cruise with their parents and with us. We all always do the late dining and the children SIT IN THEIR CHAIR throughout the ENTIRE meal, NO TOYS at the table as it is "meal time" NOT "play time" (toys sends the wrong message). Try including your children in the conversation - it improves their vocabulary and you might learn something about your children - like what they are thinking! Our grandchildren eat from the regular menu, take part in the conversation and LOVE formal night. AND THEY DO NOT HAVE TO ASK "HOW FORMAL IS FORMAL?" Which takes me to my second complaint: How brain dead do you have to be to be unable to dress properly? MEN: A dark suit OR a tux, unless you are on Carnival! THAT is IT! No exceptions, very simple! You can buy a dark suit, shirt and tie at Wal-Mart's for $99.99, if you can afford a cruise you can afford that. If you do not like wearing a tie - tough! I don't like wearing panty hose - your other choice? Stay home or stay in your stateroom! My third complaint: The smokers that whine about "their right to smoke" Does this also give you the right to put your drunk or half drunk self, WITH your lite cigarette, on the elevator with me and burn holes in my clothes? I have had 3 pieces of good clothing ruined in this manner. It really ticks me off! If you want to smoke - follow the rules, please put your smoke out before entering the elevator. UtterCaro Posted November 19, 2008 #96 Share Posted November 19, 2008 1. Everything about disembarkation -- the packing, the bill-paying, and especially being pried off the ship with a crowbar. ;) 2. Whiners, chair hogs, snotty teens, and others with a sense of entitlement. 3. Not being independently wealthy enough to live on a ship. :( Caro

maryhou Posted November 19, 2008 #98 Share Posted November 19, 2008 1. I hate to get off the ship 2. I hate when people smoke & blow it right in your face(Happens way too much in casino) 3. I hate to see my bill on our last morning when it is slipped under our door HAHA However, I will still continue to cruise because my LIKES are so much more than my dislikes. In my opinion it is the best way to vacation ever !!
tip Posted November 19, 2008 #99 Share Posted November 19, 2008 I responded to this already a month or two ago, but I just thought of one more... ...people who try to tell me how to dress or to use their words, "properly".
