Bobed1927 Posted November 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2008 For reasons of flight selection we're flying into Miami instead of directly to Ft Lauderdale. We don't want to take a shuttle because we'd probably have to make several stops. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive car service for us to use from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale? Aunty Pat Posted November 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2008 A Taxi would be less expensive than a car service. Also check with HAL. They may have transfers available from the Miami airport on your day of arrival. Spinner2 Posted November 3, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2008 We used a HAL ship-to-airport transfer when we flew home out of Miami last month. Chances are the transfer works both ways. The distance isn't that great; the bus ride was less than a half-hour but from what people who got a taxi on our Fort Lauderdale port day to go do some shopping, the cabs were very expensive so HAL's transport may not be too bad a deal. Or, a rental car that can be dropped off in FLL is probably feasible. I think Miami is a good option for those of use who fly cross-country to Fort Lauderdale; many more nonstop flights in and out of Miami.

lastlook Posted November 6, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Then under Florida Departures on the main page of Cruise Critic Message Boards. Here's a recent quote (one of several recommending this company/person on that section of the Cruise Critic Forum.) I've not used him, but have recently sent the information to my sister, who plans to book with him. You may want to mention that you heard about him on Cruise Critic, if you decide to use him. Quoting.... "SAS Transportation is the only company my family uses when we are in South Florida. Call Steve at 954-600-0240 or e-mail him at sas9897@aol.com He will charge you $15 per person and you will see first hand why everyone uses them. Great company and a very nice, reliable guy." End of quote. Hope this helps.
