Diving Belize through Royal Carribean

We've never been to Belize and are thinking about booking through the ship. Anyone dove specifically through RC and how was your experience? The description sayes that they break you up into groups of 6-8. I've been on cattle boat dives and was not impressed.

The cruise lines dives are too much 'follow the leader' for experienced divers and if we can get 6 divers together, we can charter a boat for much less and get more personalized service. We're doing research right now for our trip in January and have booked our Roatan dives with West End already (promising us 100s and a decent wall/drift dive). Since we all dive with computers, we don't want to skimp on our bottom time. For Belize, we'd love to dive Lighthouse reef and blue hole, but it's probably too far from where the ship docks. Our best shot will be to get an operator that can meet us close to the ship and get us back in time.

 

When we find something, we'll post it here.. Also looking at Cozumel and Diving with Martin seems best, although we'll need to book the entire boat to make it right.
