OBC what can I use it for?

I have been putting money on my OBC for months now, now I'm wondering what I can use it for. Can I use it in the Casino? Can I use it to help balance my final bill?

I am a little lost here..

I've only cruised once on Carnival, but you should be able to use your OBC for anything you would have to purchase while on the ship including shore excursions, alcohol, soft drinks, pictures, things from the ship gift stores... I didn't use the casino on my previous cruise so I'm not sure how that works. Most cruise ships seem to want to work on a "cashless" system, but I don't know if that extends to the casino, or not.

The OBC is just a credit applied to your account...so basically the first $100 you spend on anything is what will be credited off

You can use it on anything. If you don't spend it all, they'll refund it.

What you are putting in is like a debit account on the ship....they will use it against anything you purchase on the ship, I would have to believe you can use it in the casino too being most ships are using the cashless system....you can use it for the spas, drinks, excursions, cover charge restaurants, anything in any of the onboard shops....:)

You can also use it to pay your tips.

I just bought OBC for my sons honeymoon cruise on RCI...you can NOT use it for the Casnio or for paying tips...and, dont forget to activate it before you cruise, I believe it is 10 days before. You can NOT do it onboard according to their website..Im not sure if this is in STONE, as some are saying different..all I know is the rules and regulations that I had to sign...

Saw a post a couple months ago - older gentleman - bought a gift certificate for his wife goin on a cruise with sisters or something - tucked it into her suitcase as a surprise - hadn't read all the terms - she couldn't use it :(

It may be different than a 'gift certificate' ie putting cash in the onboard account instead - and I'm not familiar enough with Celebrity to say. You should call them.

If you bought shipboard credit she will be fine..you can buy Spa credits, or Casnio credits etc, that she would use in just those areas..

OBC IS a credit to your account. At the end of the cruise you'll get your statement and whatever your OBC is will be credited to the total bill. She can use it for shopping and spa. Everything gets charged to your ship and sail card anyway, then they deduct the OBC at the end.

I have just received an auto email 'Amenity Statement' showing the online purchase and after telephoning 'Celebrity' they confirmed can spend on anything. OBC should show on onboard account within 2/3 days of boarding.

good, you scared me, I was thinking "what if I can't use it?" I would be doomed to a cruise without drink, casino, shopping, oh, I can't think of anything worse,,,

 

Maybe staying home? Well seriously, that relieves my mind. I can use my OBC for anything. Including casino. Thanks, and I do not have to activate it?
