Tampa Hotel Question

Is Anyone familiar with this hotel?:

Residence Inn-Tampa Downtown 101 E Tyler St, Tampa, FL 33602

Is it in a good area, convenient to cruise terminal etc.?

Stayed there in Feb of 2007. They have a shuttle to the pier. Will also take you to Ybor City, aquarium, and Channelside. It's across from the Performing Arts Center, and it looked like the area was in a rebuilding process.

there isn;t much of anything around........you'd need to cab it or take the shuttle. the Courtyard is right next door, IIRC.

the waterside marriott is nicer, close to the port (you could walk...i wouldn't, but it's close enough) and theres all sorts of stuff at channelside.
