converting future cruise certificates

Hi,

 

We bought 2 FCC's in sept to assure an OBC with our stockholder OBC. Since they made dec the cutoff for combining both we don't have the money to pick 2 cruises and put deposits down.

 

I read here before that the fcc's are not refundable but if I convert them to bookings and put down deposits I can then cancel my booking for a full refund...correct?

 

Has amyone done this or am I wrong?

 

I can put deposits on my cc and then cancel witjout laying out any money. My husband is on the layoff watch list so the $200 back would be nice.
