ladyd11933 Posted November 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2008 I have a quick question. If a ship is offering an upgrade from say an 4A to a 4G and you use the military discount - can you get the upgrade also? Or does the military discount prevent you from the upgrade. Thanks
sjcruiser Posted November 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2008 It depends on when you call, who you speak to, if you're a previous guest, etc. There are many factors that may affect an upgrade. I used the military rate to get the best price for an inside, then I paid to go to a balcony. When I tried to use it to get a balcony upgrade to a higher deck, I couldnt use the military rate, but after severals calls my rate/status was changed to past guest and I got the higher deck at the lower rate without paying any extra money. Fr.***** what the PVP told me I got the lowest rate possible for a balcony
rjpolly Posted November 13, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2008 I think you can get the military discount and the upgrade, they offered us one today when the price of our cruise went down, we had the military discount applied, and they still were offering to upgrade our cruise but we opted for the cash refund instead. ladyd11933 Posted November 13, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Upgrades are being offered on the cruise without any past guest or discount being applied - are even being offered for senior and resident rates. I am currently paying for the category that they are upgrading to using the military rate but I guess I was wondering if I could pay the rate of the lower category using military rate and get the upgrade also. Hope this makes sense, has been a loooonnnnggg day at work.
