DJMFam Posted November 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2008 We will be traveling on Independence of the Seas later this month with our son who is 6 months old. I understand that their babysitting services are only offered for children over 1 year. Does anyone know how strict they are about this rule? crusinmama06 Posted November 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Usually if the child is close to 1 year old, we tell parents not to volunteer that info when making the babysitting reservations. ;) But in this case, 6 months is a far cry from a year. I haven't tried it though. So if you do, let us know if it worked. :)

I understand that their babysitting services are only offered for children over 1 year. Does anyone know how strict they are about this rule? We were able to arrange babysitting for our 6 month old on Rhapsody of the Seas. At first we were denied because of the "1 year old" rule. When I explained that it would only be for 2 hours every night (from 8:30 to 10:30 pm) so that we could go to late seating dinner, and that the baby had a bedtime every night at 7:30 pm, and would be asleep the entire time the sitter was there, my request was put thru and we received a babysitter. I don't know what your desires are for a sitter but, once I explained exactly what we were looking for and what the situation really was, she seemed to understand. You may as well try. Be sure to garnish with plenty of please and thank-you's! Good luck.
DJMFam Posted November 13, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted November 13, 2008 We were planning on getting a babysitter for at night. It would be for after he goes to sleep. He's sleeping through the night, so once he's down, he's down until 7:30am. I will try to just book the babysitter without his age and see what happens. Make sure you tell them that - "he goes to sleep at XX and once he is down, he is down for the night. We just need someone to sit and watch him sleep" That is pretty much what I said too....that and "we just need the baby sitting so that we can go to dinner for a few hours"
