Back To Back (or as they say here B2B) Cruising: Thoughts, Methods, Concerns

Maybe NCL SPIRIT does things differently from other NCL ships.

We were on this ship last month as back2back. We didn't need any new cards. We walked off early with the rest of the passengers after the 1 night cruise so we can see NY and returned for lunch.

Could it be that we had the same stateroom so didn't need new cards?

We are doing our first B2B cruises in January '09 on the Jade. Both cruises begin and end in Barcelona. Total of 21 days! We did manage to get the same cabin for both legs although we had to rebook a couple times to make it happen and we kept lowering our cost every time. Our plan is to try to get our new key cards (if needed) from the front desk the night before. We want to walk off the ship very early and catch the train to Montserrat for a few hours of sightseeing. Then we will reboard sometime in the early afternoon.

I do advise going to the front desk and asking the procedure just to make sure. Also, check a couple of times as you may get different answers.;)

Always seems to be the case right? I will do that though ask a few times to see what the answers are and what sounds the best and go with it...thank you!

If I add one of the weekend cruises (1 or 2 night) onto a 10 day would that count as a separate cruise for Latitudes purposes? Also if I tack the weekend cruise onto the end would we have to carry all our own stuff off since people seem to say with the weekend you are expected to carry your own stuff but since we would have all the luggage I don't think we could do it?

Yes I actually just looked into the Repo cruise for the Dawn 11/1/09 and its the same price as what I am paying for my 7 day cruise on the Dawn 11/28!

Seems like a very good deal.

I have been amazed as how inexpensive this 14 day cruise has been.. even the suites. To me, less than 5 or 6 grand for a 14 day cruise for a suite is amazing.

I AM SO ENVIOUS of you.. this sounds like it will be an amazing cruise.. PLEASE when you get back remember to come on here and tell all of us about it. Next year being our 10th Anniv, we wanted to take a special cruise. We had looked at maybe doing a B2B for Alaska, but that wouldn't work with our schedules and the time of year we wanted to do this. We looked at doing the Med, but to be honest, it stopped at some places that I feared for our safety. I KNOW it is a phobia I have to get over and someday I will. So I really can't wait for you to get back and tell us all about it.

  • 3 months later...
We did a "back to back to back" last December. We were sure to have the same stateroom for all three legs. After each cruise we were escorted off the ship for a few minutes by a ships employee and we had to get our new cards and picture taken again. Then walked back onto the ship. We even had the entire ship to ourselves for a couple of hours. Besides the ships employees of course.

hi there,

when you say "take pictures" do you mean for the sail n sign cards for your photo to pop up on the screen when you get on / off the ship? or do you mean the pic with the date / backdrop of the ship? we're wearing matching shirts for the first leg of the cruise but if we get the chance to take pics a second time just incase i don't like the first one

thanks!
