RICKnVICK Posted November 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2008 I have been reading a lot of reviews on Cabbage Beach and was just wondering if anyone had been there and recommends it. It is on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Thanks for any information. Vicki
scubagirrl Posted November 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2008 I have been reading a lot of reviews on Cabbage Beach and was just wondering if anyone had been there and recommends it. It is on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Thanks for any information. Vicki Cabbage Beach is the same beach the Atlantis stands on. It's a long stretch of sandy white beach lined with pines and palms. In the winter months, there can be rough waters, and is sometimes closed due to the dangers... but when it's open, it's wonderful. No amenities, but you can rent a chaise and umbrella from one of the locals. (hint: When you come into port, look over to Paradise Island. If the waves are crashing up behind the island.. it's likely the beaches are closed. If not.. head on over.) For calmer waters, you can use the public beach just outside of town (lighthouse beach). It's on the channel and there's no amenities, or head to Cable Beach Resorts and get a day pass to the Wyndham. Calmer waters, lifeguards, pools, bar/grill and restrooms. RICKnVICK Posted November 19, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted November 19, 2008 Thanks scubagirrl! We are cruising in mid-February. I sure hope we will be able to check it out. I appreciate the info on Lighthouse Beach as well.
