parisbully Posted November 20, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2008 We will be driving from Portland for our Alaska cruise next year. Is there parking at the port? Or any hotels in the area that we could stay pre cruise and then leave our car - at no charge - for 7 days. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Putterdude Posted November 21, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2008 There is parking at the port at a cost of about $18 per day. To my knowledge there are no hotels in the downtown core that offer free parking. There are some motels and hotels out near the airport and in Burnaby that do offer free parking; the first first one that leaps to mind are the Accent Inns that have properties in both locations. Otherwise you are looking at parking rates north of $15/ day. www.accentinns.com/

I doubt any of the downtown (near the cruise terminal) hotels would offer parking for even a discounted rate. Parking in downtown Vancouver is exceedingly expensive. However, if you stay slightly out of town (near a Skytrain line), you may be able to park there for a week, and then just use Skytrain to get in and out of downtown. Skytrain is the elevated mass transit system in Vancouver, and it ends right at the Canada Place cruise terminal (literally take 2 escallators up from the platform and you're at the cruise ships).
