kpauley Posted April 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2004 I'm thinking about booking cabin 9620 on the Navigator which is across from the Concierge Club. Can someone tell me what this is or what it's used for. I checked my recent Radiance compass and couldn't see that this room was used on that ship. Thanks. madforcruising Posted April 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2004 The Concierge Club is not used for general activities. It´s a club for Diamond C&A members and guests staying in a Grand Suite or higher. In the Concierge Club the Concierge is available during certain times of the days. There are some amenities offered for the guests with access. You have to have a special key to get access. pltag Posted April 19, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Kathy.....I don't know if you were concerned about noise or lots of activity, but this should not be a problem. The busiest time in the Concierge Lounge is before dinner. The place empties out after that......amazingly about the same time they shut down the bar! kpauley Posted April 19, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 19, 2004 pltag - I was concerned about noise and activity at night or if this was the room where the cigar smokers got together. Looks like the location will work out OK. In two more cruises, I'll be a diamond C&A member and I too can get a pass to this room. Todd320 Posted April 19, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Don't want to put a damper on your hopes but the Concierge last week on the Serenade said RCI is looking into upping the number to get into the diamond. The clubs are just becomming to crowded with diamonds. madforcruising Posted April 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 19, 2004 That wouldn´t surprise me as they are giving now double credit for suites too many people will get diamond pretty soon. I´ll be at the end of my next but one cruise too if everything stays like it is now. truffles2 Posted April 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 19, 2004 I think they should do a little forward thinking before they act...i.e. they should have thought of that before. I, for one, would be quite upset if they took away a privilege for diamond members...unless they had a "grandfather" clause excepting those who were already entitled. until Serenade Inaugural Transatlantic August 3, 2003 Until Grandeur Repositioning~ Bermuda to San Juan Oct. 31, 2003 until Mariner E Caribbean~Jan. 18, 2004 until Serenade S Caribbean~Feb. 28, 2004 Time by Escati~~http://www.escati.com Thanks Escati

RCI 17, Celebrity

madforcruising Posted April 19, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 19, 2004 1-5 Gold 6-10 Platinum after 10 completed Diamond Getting one additional credit for a cruise 12 nights or longer and one additional credit for booking a GS or higher category. So on a 12 night cruise in a GS you can get 3 credits. Donnaluv2cruise Posted April 19, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 19, 2004 So is the concierge club a fun place to hang out before dinner?
fireguy091 Posted April 19, 2004 #12 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Truffles, I understand what you are saying but the fact is that eventually there will be so many diamond members that the club will become overcrouded and take away the ombiance of the whole thing. I used the concierge club on the serenade and it isn't big enough to hold all the the guests in the suites let alone all the diamond members. crjohn Posted April 19, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 19, 2004 It can be. There is currently an open bar before dinner for eligible members and the concierge room on the Radiance class ships is at the front of the "bump" on deck 10 with large windows overlooking the ocean. Quite a view. Todd320 Posted April 19, 2004 #14 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Maritza (Serenade) said on our cruise she had a possible 50 cabins that had access but the week before there were 140 and that was way too many. Sailfish Posted April 19, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 19, 2004 We occasionally stopped by the concierge club aboard the Navigator in mid-December 2003, and found it to be empty every time we went. There was maybe one or two other couples each time at 5:30pm-6:00pm. I'm sure the numbers vary from week to week. But is the concierge club very busy on most ships? I have only been to the one aboard the Navigator and it was very quiet. truffles2 Posted April 19, 2004 #16 Share Posted April 19, 2004 There were so many diamond members on the Mariner Jan. 18 cruise that in addition to the regular lounge they opened up half of the Viking Crown for their use...and it was still crowded! The Shopping Sherpa Posted April 22, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 22, 2004 What's this about double points for cruises over 12 nights? All my cruises on RCCL have been 12 nights or more and it's irked me that other people could be at Diamond level after 10 3 night cruises where as 38 nights on board I'm still onlyGold. Oh to live closer to a cruise hub... madforcruising Posted April 22, 2004 #18 Share Posted April 22, 2004 I understand your concern it´s the same for me, but that´s how the rules are. The double points for 12 nights or longer are in effect since 2003. The additional point for gs or higher since 2004.
