miyucruises Posted November 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2008 We just got back from our weddingmoon on the Carnival Imagination. It was absolutely perfect! We arrived in Miami the night before the wedding and had an informal rehearsal dinner for 15 of our 18 guests. The dinner was at Los Ranchos at Bayside Mall downtown, near the port The service and food were both wonderful. The morning of the wedding I woke up early and went to Panache Salon with my MOH. This is the same salon used by TWE, but I booked them on my own. I recommend this; it was cheaper. They did an amazing job. My hair was identical to the picture I brought. They used the airbrush makeup. It lasted well into the night, and I still looked very natural. My MOH was very happy with her hair and makeup as well. My MOH I arrived at the port about 30 minutes before everyone else. I was escorted to the Carnvial VIP lounge and given a room to wait in while the groom and guests were taken to another lounge. The wedding coordinator and the officiant came to see me and go over the plan for the day and how the ceremony would run. Our officiant was as sweet as he could be. I was the first person brought onto the ship, at about 11:30. The wedding coordinator made sure that I was tucked away in a room before everyone else got on board. Carnival arranged for two rooms to be ready and I got dressed in my parents' suite. The photographer came to the room to take some pictures of me getting ready and then the coordinator came to get me for the ceremony at 1:00. We were married in the Curiosity Library. The room was arranged exactly as I had requested. However, I only realized that after everything was over because as soon as my father walked me into the room, I couldn't see anything by my fiance (now husband) waiting for me. The ceremony went exactly as scripted. We had a sand ceremony instead of the unity candle. It was beautiful. After the ceremony we took a few pictures in the library and signed the marriage license. We arrived in the Pride Dining Room for the Lucheon by 1:30. We cut the cake and had a few toasts at right at the beginning. We brought our own cake topper and champagne flutes. The ones Carnival was going to provide were pretty tacky. Lunch was served and we were able to sit with our non-sailing guests in order to spend some extra time with them before they had to depart. The food was pretty good. Some of the steaks were not cooked correctly, but overall, not bad. The cake was wonderful and we wound up eating it for the next three nights at dinner. At 3:15, we were told that the non-sailing guests would have to be leaving. The photographer took several more pictures and we bid farewell to the non-sailing guests. We then went to the muster drill and took some pictures there. At 5:00 we met the photographer for the professional shots. He took us to several places around the ship. We were grateful we were able to do it later and not take time away from our guests. The pictures came out beautifully. We wore our wedding clothes to dinner that evening. As we walked around the ship we got a lot of applause and congratulations. We are also the subject of a lot of strangers vacation pictures. All in all, it was a perfect day! Here is a link to some of the pictures. I have not had a chance to upload them all, but this is a good taste. http://picasaweb.google.com/miyuwedding/ShipPhotographer#

Tiffknee20 Posted December 5, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2008 Did you have to buy your own sand ceremony set instead of the unity candle? That's a good idea!
miyucruises Posted December 11, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted December 11, 2008 Did you have to buy your own sand ceremony set instead of the unity candle? That's a good idea! Yes, we bought our own set. You can get that particular set from a number of websites. Just google, "heart-shaped sand ceremony set."
