Voyage 4909 Split

I was just out today on the Silversea site and noticed that my April 5 sailing now is available as a split of 4909A and 4909B, so now you can book the pre-Vietnam part separately or the Vietnam part. If you book the whole thing, you get the Venetian Society discount if you are a past passenger, but if you book one of the split portions, you do not. I thought this was a good marketing idea for them and now gives some Asia options for people that cannot go for two weeks. This may change the passenger mix, but I think it will give more people the chance to go or help those that wanted to spend some land time in Japan. I'd have done this if it was available in the beginning, but now I have my heart set on the whole thing. Our cruise this May was the split off of the last world cruise segment. It was sort of a stripped down lifeboat drill and captain's party, but besides that, everything was normal.

What does anyone else think about this?
