Switching people within room?

Please help me with this question, 7 of us have 3 rooms, in order to book we had to have one person 25 or older in each room. When we board we will be switching rooms, how does that work with our SS card, will they make us another room key for each room?

I'll be doing this in January for the first time. From what I understand, they don't actully give you additional keys, they change the coding on the cards electronically so they will work for the correct room.

We went to the pursers desk and had another key made for the rooms. Everyone kept their original Sign and Sail card and those that switched rooms also had a key. Have a whole punched in the card and hang from your lanyard. Easy and no hassles. Since we are all family it did not matter to us that the others had a key to our rooms (the original S&S card).

Just got off the Liberty. Had one adult & one teen booked in each cabin (across the hall from each other.) Pursers desk would not change name on each cabin, said one adult MUST be in each cabin (although different Carnival CVS offered to change it before sailing.) We had it that way due to the casino bring a friend promo. They made new keys for each cabin, but one adult and one child then needed to carry 2 cards each...a nuisance when it didn't need to be that way.

Just off Destiny yesterday. We had 2 adults and 15 and 16 year old boys. We had to book it with each adult with a kid, but on board the purser's desk switched everything around, gave us new cards (so we all had just one card) and even changed credit cards so that my step son's friend had his stuff charged to parent's card. The purser understood exactly what we needed to do and did it quickly and easily. I was impressed.

Go the the purser's desk and tell them who you want in which cabins.

They'll give everyone the appropriate keys.

We did this, only there were 17 of us in 8 rooms! It was a tad bit confusing at first, but worked out alright. The confusing part was this: Our son, 23 at the time, was able to get his own room, as we (his parents) were on the same cruise and were going to be "responsible" for him:rolleyes:He was bunking with his young cousin. His girlfriend who was 20 at the time, had to be with someone over 25, so we registered her to be in my brother in law's cabin with him and his son. She had a key for his room, but her own credit card for her expenses. So, she had her own S&S card for her own expenses, but a key card for BIL's cabin, she moved to DS's cabin, DS got an extra key for his room which he gave to her. DS's cousin moved into the girlfriend's spot with BIL and all was just fine, after I had a few DOD's. Whew. She used her original card for her purchases etc. on board.
