Would like shore excursion suggestions

What are your recommendations for interesting/memorable shore excursions that we can book through the ship....particularly the shorter ones, as opposed to being gone most of the day.

Also, any recommendations for "must see" spots within walking distance of the ship for those days in port.

Our stops will be Mazatlan, Puerta Vallerta, and Cabo San Lucas onboard Holland America's Oosterdam.

In Cabo you will be tendered right into the hub of the markets. a Barterer's heaven :D. Lots to look at lots to eat.In PV you can walk to the shopping mall across the street or go to the market at the port. In Mazatalan you can shop the market( watch out for the time share people theya re like vultures).Go to Stone Island it is a cool place to get eats.

It sounds like we have similar ideas, and we too are going on the Oosterdam.

We've about decided on the tall ship whale watching in Cabo (approx 2 hrs) and the shrimp feast in Mazatlan--at least it gets us out and about (3.5 hours) , but we would really like to find a PV whale watching/dolphin watching excursion--no beach, no snorkling, just seeing wildlife from a boat. Do we have to wait and try to find something at the dock?
