Labadee Water Temp In January?

Hey all, I'm wondering if you know of a site or what the water temp is in Haiti around January 1 and if there are jellyfish problems like on Cococay

We were in Labadee a few years ago in January and thought the water was way too cold to go in. Admittedly, we are wimps, but there were very few people in the water even though the air temp was in the low 80's.

I've found that folks from the north will swim in water much cooler than folks from the south....

It may be chilly (the water), but the air temps will be great for sunning!

We snorkelled Labadee in mid-December and thought that the water was slightly chilly, but got used to it quickly.

 

We didn't run into any jellyfish.

We took a Christmas cruise in 2005 and we stopped in Haiti at the beginning of January. The water was great. Not as warm as in April or May but it was AT LEAST high-70's

We were in Labadee toward the end of January, 2007. I thought the water was very comfortable and I don't like cold water.

Thanks for all the feedback. I go to NJ beaches in the summer, so I'm not spoiled like some of you out there with 80+ degree water!!

Been to Labadee twice in January. Both times water was excellent. water temp high 70s low 80s.. will be there again in a month..

Here in New Hampsha the water temp in July is usually in the low 60's. It sometimes even creeps up to 67 or so and you actually have feeling in your ankles!

 

We will be at Labadee in February and whatever the temp is, it will be like bath water for us!

Agreed, did someone really say it was too cold to go in when the water was in the 70s?!? That would sound really nice right about now, maybe us northerners are just tougher! :p ;)

My guess is that it'll feel like bath water compared to Lake Michigan in the summer!!
