Tylara Posted April 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2004 I was on the Radiance a couple weeks ago and I have discovered I left my prescription glasses behind. I normally wear contacts and am not used to glasses yet, thus they were not immediately missed. I'm fairly confident I know where I left them, now that I realize they're gone. Has anyone successfully recovered something they left behind on the ship? Whom should I contact? I will be calling RCI customer service but I want to make sure I go about this the best and most expedient way. Thanks for any assistance. until the Enchantment Enchantment of the Seas 5/04 Radiance of the Seas 4/04 Mariner of the Seas 12/03 Voyager of the Seas 06/
Family of 14 Posted April 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2004 There is a lost and found, so maybe you have a chance with glasses. A while back, a lady asked about her diamond engagement ring that she had lost on the ship. Last I heard, don't think that the ring was turned in. If you left the glasses in a drawer, chances are they have not been discovered and a message could be sent to the ship to look in your stateroom. Sorry this isn't much help. CruiserCanyon Posted April 19, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2004 On thefirst day at sea on the explorer, I was swimming and my swim trunks had no pockets, so I had to hand carry my wallet since it had my sea-pass and money in it, about $400, all I was gonna try and spend(im cheap)... anyway I went to a breakfast bar, you know the ones on deck, and left my wallet there, went back and couldnt find it, got scared cause to me thats alot of $$$$. I asked a crew member and he told me go to deck 5, gust relations. It was about 2 minutes after I lost it and they already had it there in a safe. it was average looking so luckily the only way to identify it is by an arcade card i had got the previous night. Im lucky RCCL is on top of things
RonnieS Posted April 19, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2004 While on the AOS last December I left a brand new RCI Jacket in the stateroom when we checked out. Not realizing I forgot it till we arrived at the airport in SJU. Wore it once. Oh well, my bad. When I phoned customer service for lost and found I was told that only items of value may be returned such as jewelry, passports or any items of that nature. All other items are given to local charities. I was a little ticked about such a policy but perhaps its the way its has to be. I suppose with all the things people leave behind it would be quite a task to try and return all those items. Hopefully prescription glasses may qualify as a "Item of value". Good luck. Nancy_Hawks Posted April 19, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 19, 2004 My son lost one shoe while on a cruise last May. I felt a little ridiculous going to Guest Relations and asking if anyone turned in one black dress shoe. We never did find it. I'm guessing the cabin steward picked it up by accident with towels or something. What the heck am I going to do with just one black dress shoe. justcruzin85374 Posted April 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Just back from the Brillinace and I was at the computer station deck 7. I saw someone left their expensive digital camera, so I turned it into guest relations. I never heard if the owner "found" it. Good luck, hope you find your glasses. Soveriegn 92 E. CinWin Posted April 20, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Funny, but I have a similar story to the poster who started this thread. I was on Celebrity's Century with my sister. The first night we went to the show, and when we got up to leave my sister must have dropped her glasses which she had on her lap. We never realized it til a little later. We couldn't find the glasses and asked the cleaning crew to turn them in to the customer service desk when they turned up. For the rest of the cruise, we kept asking Customer Service if the glasses were turned in. Bottom line - they never were. For the whole cruise, I had to read the menu to my sister everytime we ate in the dining room. Enchantment 5/
