Getting cash onboard

you take your room key/ charge card to the casino and ask for money and they charge ot to your room as a purchase not a cash advance.

We do it all the time, as a matter of fact we bring very little cash because we get as needed in the Casino.

You can get up to $1000.00 per day on your card. As above it is a purchase, not a cash advance. We have done this on our last 5 cruises. Thanks to the Cruise critic group.:)

Actually on NCL it is $2000.00 per day per cabin.

Also, let me add this. It is not just as easy as walking up to the casino cash cage and handing them your card and then walking away with the money. You have to walk up, them them how much you want and what you want it for then they call in for approval. It takes generally five minutes to get approval. Then they motiion you back over to the cage and have you sign the docs, then give you the cash. The reason I am saying this is if you are just getting cash to spend on your trip (ie. while you are on shore, etc) it might be worth the $4.00 or $5.00 the ATM charges not to spend your time wasting your vacation waiting for the cash in a smoke filled room. For some, it is worth it to save that.

Also another tip is if you do use the casino cash cage to get money I would make sure you take out more than you think you will need and keep the extra in your safe. If you end up not using it you can always pay it towards your final billing the last day of your cruise. That way you only have to go through it once.

if you only get $200 per day they don't have to call for approval so no waiting. It shows up on your final bill and is charged to your credit card you used for the cruise..

I so love this site and all of you and your plethora of knowledge!!! I still think I may get some travelers checks but wanted to see what the responses were. I will not get as much since we can get $$ out from our keycard.

Thanks so much for your responses!!
