Several posts lately have reported 45 day letters are no longer being sent out by Carnival so probably no need for you to worry about it. Just another cost cutting measure. :(

I've been reading that on the boards as well,but I got one last week.

To the OP...I have only redeemed one and got the anniversary decorations and they were really nice.Better than expected.

I received a letter after our cruise in April. We booked a cruise in October, so I called...gave them my first and second choice of "gift". I'm still waiting for that wine to be delivered. I still wrote another letter, but not to get a gift, just to let them know of our good experiences and a few things that needed attention. So, don't count on getting a gift, it may or may not happen.

Om my Legend cruise last year, not only didn't I receive my first choice, I didn't get anything. Luckily I had brought the letter with me, and halfway thru the cruise I went to the Pursers Desk with it. They checked it out and somehow it had been missed.

 

Now I have another letter, just need to book a cruise.:rolleyes:

So where does the "45 days" come into the writing of this letter? 45 days after you get back from your cruise? Someone enlighten us newbies :confused:

You redeem it within 45 days of leaving on your cruise.

So many report getting this 'letter'. It's like OBC, folks get one sometimes - no rhyme nor reason. I've never rec'd one, and it's no biggie anyway. My PVP a coupla cruises ago called one day and asked if I drink wine; she was having a bottle sent to my cabin. Nice and unexpected, but had nothing to do w/a letter. I don't even try to understand reasons by Carnival anymore.;)

I received my first choice, champagne, but it was to be delivered at embarkation and didn't come until quite late that evening.
