IslandToIsland Posted December 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2008 I thought I seen somewhere that this is no longer. I searched the threads and can't find anything on it. Is it true? If the price of my cruise goes down, I get no OBC?
Catrin Posted December 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2008 Yes, December 1st was the deadline. No more OBC after final payment. It has been mentioned here, however, that upgrades are possible, if that category has not been sold out. I will be watching my prices daily until January 25th! After that, I won't even LOOK!! Catrin
kujobie Posted December 13, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 13, 2008 If it's more than 76 days before you cruise on a 6+ day cruise (61 days before a 5, or less, day) you can cancel and rebook at a lower price without penalty. It would likely be a reduced amount owed if you haven't paid in full yet. If you have paid in full it may be OBC or a refund on your credit card. What Carnival has stopped doing is honoring price drops within the penalty period (less than 76 days prior to cruise) in the form of OBC. They are still doing upgrades if the price drops close to the cruise date, but even that is not guaranteed. Since you are within that penalty period, you are not eligible for OBC. cruisinmeme Posted December 14, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2008 this sorta sucks since most of the price reductions will come after paid in full. oh well finally found a way to save a buck and now it is gone............
