cruzisme Posted December 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2008 Can you post some tour operators that you have travelled with in Rio? What are 'must sees' or 'do's' in this city? Month of January.:)

Mary Ellen Posted December 14, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2008 Last January we sailed on HAL from Rio to Valparaiso via Antarctica. In Rio we used Neyla Bontempo from the list of licensed tour guides that Owl has a link to above. She was outstanding! We did one day of touring in the city and another day we went to the 'mountain' city of Petropolis. We thoroughly enjoyed both days with Neyla. We also used her for our transfers from the airport to our hotel and again to the ship. We're planning on going to Antarctica again in 2011 and we'll be once more touring with Neyla while in Rio. Mary Ellen Posted December 21, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 21, 2008 Thank you for the info - we booked with Neyla.Friend of cruzisme You are in for a WONDERFUL time. One bit of information I wish we'd known before going to Brazil - apparently VISA is the credit card of choice. We'd planned on charging our admissions to Sugar Loaf and Cordavaco but only had AMEX and MC with us (we don't bring all our cc when traveling). Neyla charged them on her cc and we then paid her in USD. It would have been easier if we'd had a VISA card on us.
