Gosh, that would be an extremely tiring day. It's a good 2 hours one-way just to get to the entrance of VNP. You could do it if you have a really long port day and don't really care if you get to spend a huge amount of time at VNP. Is your ship skipping Hilo? If so and you're set on VNP out of Kona, you really need to calculate your timing and keep in mind that Kona is a tender port, which means more time disembarking and reboarding at the end of the day.
