hogwildcruzers Posted November 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Well, let's face it folks -- the Dream is not the Coral Princess, nor the Zuiderdam, nor the Infinity, and so on and so on and so on, you understand what I am saying. But, for a 12-year-old vessel she is a beautiful, well aged, mid-size gem of a cruiseship. The interior is well kept, very clean, and beautifully decored. The staff and crew greets you every time they see you with a smile and a friendly hello. My cabin 7044, was very clean, with very friendly and efficient cabin stewards. The restaurants have excellent food, polite and service staff that act like it is a pleasure to serve you. The Le Bistro on NCL ships are the most intimate of any cruise line, and well worth the cover charge. The lounges were very comfortable, well staffed and well stocked. The entertainment was very good with great performances by the comedian, Bud Anderson, the variety act of Mario and Jenny, and in Lucky's Bar the duo of Fire and Ice was outstanding, as good as any I have ever heard in any casino in Vegas! There was always fun and games throughout the day to keep the passengers festive the entire cruise. The photography staff was the friendliest and courteous of any cruise I have been on. Excellent photographs and many opportunities to have your picture taken. If you want to have an enjoyable and a memorable cruise this ship is for you. But if you expect that of the ships mentioned at the beginning of this review, you will find something to bitch about. So, just board this ship and relax, have a drink, see a show, and enjoy what cruising is about!!!!!! ;)
Crystynatheone Posted November 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Thanks for your positive response, looking forward to fun fun fun on December 12! I read your wife's review, which was also very good. She mentioned that you all did the Canopy TOur in Roatan. Was this through the ship excursion desk or did you arrange it at the pier? Quite a bit of price difference I think, if the guys at the pier can still get you to it....any help would be appreciated!
hogwildcruzers Posted November 10, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Crystynatheone, we booked this pre-cruise through NCL Shore Excursions. I believe this is the only way you can do this excursion because NCL has bought the exclusive rights to the canopy tour. Do this, you will love it! I mean how often will I have the chance to go through a jungle canopy on a tropical island? It's only money! Thanks for the encouragement!
hogwildcruzers Posted November 11, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted November 11, 2004 On the canopy tour be sure to take some bug sray with deet, you may need it, maybe not. I never got a single bite, nor did Sherri, but one girl got eat up, I believe she had on some smelly girl stuff and bugs, those that bite, really attack you with that on. Also you will love being in the top of the trees with all the wildlife, you may not see much but the jungle sounds are out of this world. Be sure to look down.;)
