cruisindoggie Posted December 20, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2008 Are there really monkeys all over the island? And where is the best place close to the ship to see them?
dcrow72 Posted December 20, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2008 there will be plenty of locals holding diapered babies for you to pose with for a "donation" when you get off the ship. Cockleshell had a local with a baby monkey he was sharing with everyone and the beach bar had a tiny one that was just orphaned in a large cage on the beach. Last year we saw them running everywhere in the wild and this year we saw none except the ones mentioned. They are adorable. follow the link below to another thread where I posted a couple of pics of the baby monkey and Wilbur the resident pig at Cockleshell beach. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=850619
Tanker4 Posted December 21, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 21, 2008 We took a tour with Thenford Grey and saw them all over the island. He told us that it is estimated that there are over 50,000 in the wild on the island.
