NolaAlive - awesome pictures! We'll be on the Spirit 1/25. Questions: 1) in a balcony cabin is the only table/desk available the one w/the refrigerator below? Where do you relocate the straight back chair? 2) are bedside stands provided?

Keeping those pictures and dailies a'coming. Thanks.

OK, I have a request. My wife and I are sailing the Spirit with my daughter and a friend of hers for spring break. It's kind of her senior trip...

We also play LOTS of Video Poker. Go to Vegas several times a year. There are many video poker games that return close to or even over 100% with perfect play. We can spend hours pounding the machines in vegas and essentially breaking even on the machines in the long run. But the COMPS are what keep us doing it. Free rooms, free food, shows, etc.

So I am DYING to know whether or not there is any good video poker on board. Casinos on cruise ships are notoriously bad with their slot and video poker returns and I end up playing texas holdem ( if they have a card table ) or Craps or BJ.

Would you mind snapping and posting the pay tables ( a pic of the whole glass on the machine will do ) of one of the video poker machines? Set it to dollars first. Then set the game to Jacks or Better. Also a pic of Deuces wild, bonus poker and double bonus would be fantastic.

If you don't mind, I'll post here after I've seen them ( I'll even post what the return % with perfect play is for each of the games ) and then you can delete so as not to clutter up your vacation pics too much...

In reality, what my wife and I will do is look at every VP machine, every denomination, and every game looking for something that is playable. Just a few pics at dollars will whet my appetite and give me an idea though...

I'm also curious whether or not they have any progressives...

OK, thats my christmas list Santa!

I can tell you without looking to only expect coal. I'll mull it over. I can only get the pay tables when the casino is open and I'm not sure what the picture taking policy is. But Vegas, it isn't.

Thank you soooo much for the posts and pictures! We are so excited to be going - and just getting ready to pack. Can you tell us if they are offering a discount on pressing clothing on the first day? I have read that there is occasionally a special ($1/ piece maybe?). Thank you and hope you have a GREAT time!

It is 50% off - on pressing only.

That is where they put the fridge in my Mom's cabin. It is the only desk and a small one at that. There is also a small table. I don't know what they did with the chair.

There is one SMALL nightstand (shared with the phone) in my cabin.

Please give my best to Roman - the Matrie'D (sp?) in Cagney's... He is the HOTTEST man in uniform (or tux) on the ship (and on the high seas) JMHO.....let him know the "hello" is from Marla - the Mets fan that sailed with him in August and then again on the 1 niter in October.. we ate breakfast there every morning and had a blast the whole cruise with him. He probably will not remember me but I sure remember him....what a great smile and personality....he's Yummy....lol....anyway....happy cruising....

Also if the Concierge is still Karan...please give him my best...let him know that Marla from NY who is Anshuman's friend from the Dawn says hi too...

nolaAlive, would you mind telling us what you plan to do in each port? If we plan on doing some of the same things, I may have questions in advance that you could check out for me at the time. One in particular is what is the time of the last tender in Belize, and if you go ashore, what time are you able to catch a tender?

Thanks!

I eyeballed some machines. Pretty much the same pay table through $1 at 6/5 for Jacks or Better. If you go to $5 or $10 you can get 8/5., but you can forget 9/6.

Catamaran Snorkeling in Costa Maya + maybe a shore snorkel.

Cave tubing in Belize.

I'm thinking 3 stop snorkeling in Cozumel and maybe the river thingy in Guatemala.

If you don't mind, what have the temps been? - yesterday and Monday? Thanks.

Peter

Freakin cold. Maybe 51 on Sunday, not sure about today, but overcast and windy. Some people were in the pools. I could have worn shorts. Many wouldn't, however.

Tomorrow will be wamer but perhaps still overcast.

Just one of those things.

Sigh... Craps and BJ then... Thanks for looking!

Sign up for the players card and you can get a booklet with some coupons.

One will give you $20 play for $10 on slots and video poker.

Another for an ace at table plackjack.

Another for a "$5 chip".

You won't get rich, but helps a little.

Are people getting sick? I will be curious to hear how your sleeping is going. What floor are you on?

Some are. Hard to predict the weather. Don't think this is that usual, but seems like it has been a little rough of late. Think beginning tomorrow morning, everything will be fine.

I love the motion. My cabin is on the 10th floor.

I'm pretty sure you can get free meds at the pursers and some other places. You want the non-drowsy stuff, if you are susceptible. Don't want to sleep through your vacation.

Better to be safe and enjoy!
