petel Posted January 9, 2009 #251 Share Posted January 9, 2009 Cheryl - the casino now has a 3% surcharge on cash withdrawals. The amount per day is limited to $2000. I don't know about the pursers. They do have hairdryers in the cabins. They are usually in the desk drawer. According to many posters, internet access can be spotty depending on your location. Is Martin on through the April 12th sailing? We enjoyed his services last year and were hoping he would still be onboard this time. Martin is curently planning to be on VY thru the end of May. He is great! IMHO :)

Rancher Dave Posted January 9, 2009 #253 Share Posted January 9, 2009 thanks Dave. hoping we have a better experience with him this time & then when we do the 09 TA back to Galveston. BTW Dave, did you see Derek? & if so, how was his show? they have 2--1 for ALL C&A members & then 1 for Platinum/Diamond/D+ Sorry, I didn't see Derek. Martin was in a great mood anytime we saw him. Hopefully he will meet your expectations on the upcoming cruise.

Rancher Dave Posted January 9, 2009 #255 Share Posted January 9, 2009 So Dave , did you decide on cruising on the 1st with us? I am working on it...DW wants me to have somebody go with me. I want to ask a client but DW would flip if I asked that client. I did speak to my mother so that may be it....or a friend may go since he loves the sea and his DW and kids aren't quite as excited about the sea. meansun Posted January 9, 2009 #256 Share Posted January 9, 2009 Very cool! We are traveling with about 17 people so you are more than welcome to come drink with us. I'll even give you some tips one your website since I own a web dev. company.

C'mon, Dave.....the cruise on Feb 1 is gonna be great!
Rancher Dave Posted January 9, 2009 #258 Share Posted January 9, 2009 C'mon, Dave.....it's gonna be great! I'm hoping it will work out...the client isn't even the key contact there now, just she is a very hot single mom... DW did not go to a party in DFW where my parents, sister, BIL, and other company execs were from the company throwing the party...the "client" was way in personal space so much I could see my parents discussing it and BIL and sis too...never a word to me about it. BIL who hired her thinks very highly of her and her politics are more alligned with my family than DW... Go figure why DW would have a problem there. Hope Randy will be able to go and his DW will think his cruising with me is a good idea. She wouldn't want him to go alone...
HARP Posted January 9, 2009 #259 Share Posted January 9, 2009 On ships that do not already have a separate D&D+ and a CL all suite guests and D/D+ use whatever lounge is designated as the "overflow lounge". When an overflow lounge is necessary Martin (on Voyager) will either send you a notice (via cabin attendant or voice mail on your cabin phone) that the overflow lounge is in use and what the hours are. It's really very nice either way. Enjoy :) Yes, Martin communicated very well. We enjoyed him and hope to sail again with him in the lounge. Hi Pete, we will be on the April crossing how about you? OK, I can see why your DW would flip out! There are lots of us to keep you company! Well, at least I hope...... We are having a sort of melt down......cruise it to celebrate nephew's college graduation - UTSA Finance. He has a potential job offer (not exactly what he was hoping for....but, none the less, a job......) and he is afraid he may not be able to go, if it comes through. Don't know what that will do to our plans.....it's a family cruise in his honor - 8 of us going! It would probably be bad form to go on a celebratory cruise without the guest of honor, huh? I'm feeling a bit bummed right now, though! :(

I'm feeling a bit bummed right now, though! :( Wow...I agree the job is key. He can probably negotiate to be off a week for something already planned if it's discussed when they are discussing the offer...but if its a job with benefits in the economy today it is better than not. If no benefits he can always reach me to chat about that realm. If I do go, I will have to get Joe the DM Mgr to set us all up in one particular Head Waiter area. She was excellent and for the guys at least is nice to look at.

J & G Posted January 9, 2009 #264 Share Posted January 9, 2009 Thanks, Dave and meansun, for the good wishes and offer of assistance..... I don't know any of the particulars about the job.....not in on that part! I'm the great-aunt....he's actually SIL and BIL's grandson. I hope he can work out the details with them.....we all really want to go on this cruise! We are all really looking forward to it! And our rollcall is a great bunch.....I know that all rollcalls seem that way, but this one is REALLY a great group! I'm looking forward to meeting them! OK, enough whining and poor-little-ole-me stuff. I hate reading that sort of thing here.....please just send some positive thoughts!

Hi Pete, we will be on the April crossing how about you? We'll be working during April to pay for $eptember and $December.:) Probably will not see VY again for a while. I think 2010 will see us trying an X cruise or two. Enjoy :):)

theotherchad Posted January 9, 2009 #271 Share Posted January 9, 2009 After the first time reading your cruise blog, I have to say that you have the best organized reviews I've read. I plan on posting one myself after this next cruise, and I hope you don't mind if I take a cue from you as far as how the review is organized. Plagiarism makes writing much easier! ;)

I'll then tweak it for the next few days. I'm not the best speller by far.
