Star Aft AE?

Considering an aft corner AE on the Star for Panama Canal next Nov.

 

I have seen conflicting information on whether the wrap-around balcony shown on most deck plans really exists or is usable (not blocked off). Anybody know?

Our friends had an aft AE on the Star in November. They were on deck 9. Their balcony was pretty small - the main part held 2 chairs and a small table; the wraparound space was barely large enough to stand on. Two people could stand side-by-side. It would be great for viewing the PC but not much more.

We have been in the AE 9232 on the Star and loved the balcony. The balcony is not the biggest balcony we have ever had, but it is a very nice balcony. There is a lounge chair and a regular chair and a small table. We will not hesitate to book this suite again.

the wrap around balcony does exist!

We were on deck on 9 and loved it loved it.

Here's the reality of it - the part that "wraps around" the side is very narrow and is good only for standing and viewing. The main part of the balcony that faces aft is where the chairs are.

I would do that cabin with that balcony again in less than a heartbeat.

Go for it and enjoy!

We Had 8170 on the star for Alaska and that Balcony wraps around that's my favorite cabin you leave your balcony door open just a little and you can smell them baking bread in the morning.

The Star is doing a PC cruise? So it's coming to the east coast?

I believe it does LA to Miamia and then turns around and goes back on the next cruise.

I forgot to say that only decks 8 and 9 have access to the wrap around, so be sure and book one of those aft corners. I think deck 10's are AD's anyway.
