DebMcMahon Posted December 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 27, 2008 We're arriving in Montego Bay on the Coral Princess in Feb. We do not want to take the ship's excursion to an all-inclusive beach resort. Would anyone advise taking a taxi to one of the public beaches such as Doctor's Cave Beach, Walter Fletcher, Negril Beach etc.? Any suggestions appreciated!! Thanks!! I have not gone specifically to Doctor's Cave Bay from a ship but I've stayed at Breeze's in MoBay, many times, which is on Doctor's Cave Bay. It's a beautiful beach, probably the most beautiful in all of Jamaica. Everything is ala carte once you pay the five buck admission fee. The cab ride from the port in MoBay is about five bucks per person. Make sure you negotiate the price before you get in the cab and look for the red JUTA license plate. kooljamming Posted December 29, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2008 Yes, great beach. Negril is 7 miles of white sandy beach but 90 minutes from Montego Bay. If you arrange an excursion then you could also enjoy cliffs. The view is absolutely specular. Pics of Negril beach and the cliff. Oops just saw the pic of the jumping...not recommeding that :-) Hope this helps
