The ship docks practically in the main street, so you just walk. Unless you have particularly plans, I wouldn't change any money at all. The small market in the cruise terminal takes Aud. Evon. Eagleboy Posted January 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2009 HI< Diddles, eagleboys mum here i agree with your last reply you wont need much money there as everything is expensive>Also ther e is a supermarket across the road from where the ships docks if you need a drink etc. I believe they take aust dollars too. Also you have 2 full sea days to think about it before we get into Noumea anyway.:)
robynwally Posted January 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2009 Hi, We changed $100 into Pacific francs, complete waste of time as everywhere takes AUD. My husband and 2 sons both have 500 franc notes (about $10AUd) in their wallets as souvenirs now. Also once at the terminal there are plenty of tours (about 1/3 the ships price) to book and all take AUD, as do the shops.
lizzy77 Posted January 1, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2009 I wouldn't bother changing money as there wasn't anything that we would have bought and it is a very expensive place anyway. We did a bus tour and they took Aus $'s.
