We're heading back to Progreso in March. Loved the beach and relaxation level last time we were there. I'm just wondering which beach restaurant has the best, authentic food? Thanks.

Le St Bonet. Good food, reasonable.

I keep going back to Le Saint Bonnet. The whole deep fried snapper is excellent. I read that Buddy's is also very good.

Where can I get a good deal on vanilla extract in Progreso?

 

We are planning on doing the double decker bus tour and going on the tour to dzibilchaltun as well. I would like to get a big bottle of vanilla extract while we are there if the prices are right. How can I tell if it is the real vanilla extract of the new synthetic stuff?

Cinco Sole has several Mexican vanillas. Great in French Toast. What an aroma!

I was just there in February....LOVED Los Arcos....Yellow building about halfway down the beach..... ( if you do the double decker bus tour, you will see it and it's easy to walk back) Great food and drinks....Served inside a lovely building or better, on the beach! See below....Look at that water!
