vos dry dock

Recommended Posts

This is all we get from RCCL. ;)

They do not go into great detail on what is going to be done with a ship unless it has a problem and they take her in early.

Such as a pod.

Or, if they are going to make a major change other than a dusting and a cleaning.

Dry Dock can include everything from a major overhaul of inside carpeting, bedding, painting, to engine major repairs, etc.

I would assume that if it were going to get a major refurbishment, it would be in Dry Dock for a more extended period of time.

I just looked up the Voyager information and this is it. She was totally refurbished only 4 years ago so should not be due yet.

The Voyager was built in 1999 and refurbished in 2004 and she is in excellent condition. She is 138,000 gross tons; 1,020 feet long and has a beam of 158 feet. Her passenger capacity is 3,835 and a crew of 1,179. She is extremely beautiful and loaded with over 4,000 pieces of art. Her Roman style Solarium with pool and hot tubs is decorated with tasteful classic statuary. ;)

Just a thought if she was last totally refurbished in 2004 after strting cruising in 1999 - thats a 5 year gap. So if she was last refurbished in 2004 and its now 2009 surely its another 5 years gone by and therefore likely for another full reburb?

I am travelling on her on 28th June for my 21st and can't wait!!! I have never cruised Royal Caribbean before let alone VOS so I won't really be able to comment on any changes made!

Thanks for all the ideas... guess we'll just have to wait until the first cruise following dry dock. I was hoping for some new soft furnishings and flat panel TVs ...also some cleaning up of all the areas made grubby by cigarette smoke.

Does anyone know where Legend is March 14 - April 19 of this year? I cannot find any sailings for that period. Thanks.

This is all I have on her planned Dry Dock. ;)

Legend of the Seas 04.2010

If anyone knows different, please let me know.

Thanks.

I was on the Voyager in September and the bedding was wonderful! The most comfortable bed I've slept in. TV was fine (not flat, but good). I didn't notice any smokey places other than the pub and that's because people were smoking in there. Even the casino was ok.

Since it was a Med cruise I didn't spend a great amount on the ship except for Friday, but didn't notice anything unusually dirty or grubby.

In fact, I really enjoyed the ship!
