Why so many excursions cancelled in Mazatlan?

I hope this is the right place to post this, but I was searching through excursions for our Jan 10 Oosterdam cruise and couldn't help but notice 6 canceled excursions in the Matzatlan port.

Anyone know why?

I just had a look at the list of shorex in Mazatlan. We were there in Nov/08, and NONE of the ones that show as "no longer available/cancelled" were even offered when we booked our shorex for Nov. I wonder if possibly these are NEW offerings that haven't yet been finalized. (I was truly hoping they'd cancelled Concordia/Copala, in order to get the tour company's act together on it!)

Sounds like HAL is changing vendors for their tours.

We just got back from there last week. (7 Day Mexican Riviera) I was talking to some of the passengers and one mentioned they had read in the newspaper the local "Cartel" was having problems and there had been either some kidnappings/hostage situations or there were threats about potential ones. (Mostly an internal thing, not aimed toward cruisers ) Maybe the previous posters had the correct idea, that they are just switching companies..)
