Tazzycat Posted January 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2009 I watched the price of the last cruise we went on, (which ended yesterday) and the inside guarantee cat was only available during the last 30 days until they all were sold. Is it common for X to only offer the inside guarantee cat during those last days? I am ready to buy another X cruise, and I want the inside guarantee cat if I can get it. I like saving money! wrp96 Posted January 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2009 Most cruiselines don't offer guarantees on every sailing or in every category. Usually they use them to fill up sailings or categories that aren't selling well or to sell the last few cabins in a category. What you can always do is book the sailing you want and then watch to see if an inside guarantee opens up at a later date. If it does, then switch to that category if that is what you want. cruiserbryce Posted January 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2009 I think a little bit of it depends on each sailing. If they had a limited number of inside rooms available and that was it, offering them at inside guar rates may have been the way they thought was easiest to insure they were sold
