rkbooth Posted November 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2004 I recently went on a private day-sail charter with Ike Witt Charters. Our charter left from Red Hook with Captain Pat. It was the most enjoyable part of our trip. There were 5 of us in the part. We sailed on a fully restored antique wooden sailing vessel in beautiful condition. Captain Pat is an accomplished sailor who is entertaining and informative as well as a great cook. We had snacks and a great, healthy lunch with fruit and a fabulous chicken ceasar salad, along with plenty of liquids to keep us hydrated in the hot sun. There's plenty of cover on the boat and ample place for sunbathing. Captain Pat provides the use of excellent snorkel gear and takes you to great places for snorkeling. He is very conscious of preserving our natural surroundings and is a very enjoyable guide. The sailing was peaceful, and even exciting at times. I would recommend Captain Pat of Ike Witt Charters if you want a private day of safe sailing with great food and an interesting guide.
