i tring to plan a cruise iv'e been on one cruise it was with carnival it was ok were looking to take our kids this time and dont want to go broke doing it dose any one have any tips thanks for the help

If your kids are school age or toddlers, I still think your family should stick with Carnival to save the budget.

Carnival has a great program for kids. While RCCL has many kid-friendly venues like skating rinks, Johnny Rockets, etc., the price is a bit higher.

If I were you, I would base the cruise on a combination of ship offerings as well as ports of call. Some ports have more excursion options for children than other ports.

Take them on an off season (dec-jan, non holiday)4-5 day including weekend Carnival cruise, pull them from school for 2-3 days and ask there teacher for assighnments for each child.

Thats a good idea actually! You save aLOT of money by going off season and just planning right.

i have twin 5 yr olds and a 7 yr old should have put that in my question

Then I would definitely recommend Carnival. Our DD has an 8yr-old and a 5 yr-old and they love the kids club on Carnival.

I, too, would suggest avoiding spring break and holiday weeks so that your children don't get overwhelmed with the # of small kids and college kids on the ship.

DH has often talked about doing a Disney Cruise verses doing Dis World itself has anyone taken one of these cruises? What did you think? I have a 6 and 8 (going on 20) year old thinking for next winter. I see lots of people talking about carnival as well which would you suggest? I want it to be fun for adults and kids. Also the kids programs are they included in the price of the cruise or additional cost? Thanks!!

You of course these ships are not UNION

The only Union large ship is the NCL Pride of America(american flagged- no casino and no duty free) NCL gives unions discount to all union members as much as 15-20% off some cruises although the standard discount is 5% by NCL for UNion members.

Where do you want to go? all the mass market lines have decent kids programs NCL, Princess, RC and Carnival.

price vary by cruise line by ship by destination and time of year. Compare them all for the time you want to go. While price is a consideration remember where you are going and the age of the ship(and its amenities) is also an issue...as well as whether you and the kids will be happy....personally I prefer freestyle/personal choice as I like eating when and where I want to and NOT wearing a tux(which means NCL is my preference)....but that is a personal preference issue.

Disney tends to be more expensive but is a mass market line(you pay for the Disney name but they do some extras that the other cruise lines don't ie soda and juice ....
